November 10th, 2008

Are you expecting a child and want to record that special event? If this is you, but do not know where to find the resources to carry out your wishes? Well, there are plenty places where you can find your resources, including outlet stores and department stores. At these places, you can find DVD or VHS camcorders, DVD and VHS media and other forms of media to make video clips of the birth of your child.

Furthermore, you can hire the services of a professional video photographer to tape the event, live, for you. Either method is fine but if you just want to see video clips of childbirths, the Internet is a haven for such multimedia. On the Internet, there are plenty of websites and search engines where you can download and view these wonderful events as they take place. Let us not forget the power of shareware—as they, also, are a good resource of downloading and watching clips of childbirths. On these resources you will find accounts of various individuals that have gave birth and details about the childbirthing experience.

Why do you want to watch childbirthing clips? A reason could be you are curious as to how the process works and want to see the process—live and uncut. Another reason could be that you are hungry for childbirthing knowledge and to use this method as a way of doing so.

With that being said, giving birth to a baby can be done in all kinds of ways. Furthermore, watching video clips—online and offline—will give you a hint of what is looks and feels like to give birth in situations, such as underwater, hospital, multiple, hospital, unassisted and other types of births. In addition to this fact, the video taping of the births can happen at almost anyplace, including a home or at a hospital. In speaking of watching video clips, the size and quality of the clips will vary, but this nothing compared to the valuable info you will gain by viewing these childbirthing clips.

Also, in these childbirthing clips, you will learn the private details of mothers who have been through this experience and want to share this info for bragging rights or to teach other women how to deal with being pregnant. These women are prepared to disclose their private details either for instructive or celebratory purposes.

Also, if you want to share this experience with the whole world, try to create a website or blog, where clips of these births can be viewed by people all over the world! Furthermore, as a rule of thumb of making video of your childbirthing experience, it is wise to make more than one copy of the event, either by buying separate camcorders and/or making duplicate copies of the event.

What if the video footage is too grainy or blurry? You can download or buy video editing software, which can make the videos more viewable and less grainy to watch. With that being said, the experience of a mother giving birth to a child is a wonderful thing, so the recording of that moment should, also, be just as important. This is why you want to make sure the recording are of good and presentable quality.

The Workings of the Uterus after Childbirth and Tokophobia

October 27th, 2008

To those who do not know, the term for a mother who is having a baby is called Tokophobia. This disorder affect about 1/6 of all women and is classified in two groups, which both cause great fear and anxiety in the mothers, due to traumatic experiences with seeing botched labors and/or having had one themselves. What they do not realize is that if the women would let go of their fears or pregnancy and use techniques that will help them breathe and relax, the uterus will work just fine—resulting in a normal birth.

Furthermore, when the mother is ready to give birth, without much fear and anxiety, the body goes into defense mode which the stress hormones are abated. After that pint, the uterus tenses and the nervous system is running at a slow speed—lessening the labor pains.

With that being said, the uterus is designed to give birth and is a muscle that uses all of the blood and oxygen that it needs to work properly. When a woman becomes scared or highly stressed, the uterus’ blood supply is lessened and is sent to other parts of the body, as a defense mechanism. This restricting of the adequate flow of blood and oxygen that the uterus needs to function well can and will cause the fetus to have mental and/or physical problems and the makes the labor pains even worse!

The question is how does a woman rise above this dilemma? The answer comes in the way of becoming very calm and relaxed. Yes, relaxation and living a virtually-free stress lifestyle, during and after childbirth, is the key to a successful childbirth!

This is especially true during labor, when the mother goes into a state of total and complete rest, which is similar to hypnosis, as this allows the body’s muscles to work in fidelity—making the birth and easy virtually painless!

How is this state achieved? The answer is through hypno-birthing classes, which teaches the mothers that childbirth is good and natural and the cycle is more about the joining of the mother with her child.

This techniques is more about being philosophical than is about being a medical event that is to be feared with great anxiety. Simply put, hypno-birthing techniques allow the mother to conjure up the natural birthing instincts that was given to her, through mental and physical spirituality.

And, lastly, these hypno-birthing classes are for women that are suffering from terrible phobias that are related to childbirth—and if she seeks the help of a good hypnotherapist, she will have no trouble in getting over her fears of having children.

The Rights of Parents before Childbirth

October 13th, 2008

The rights of parents before childbirth is greater before the pregnancy than after the pregnancy—which includes the parent’s right to choose how and where they want to have their baby delivered. At times, deciding on a place to deliver a baby can be very stressful parents, but the bottom line is making that choice to a point where both parents will be comfortable with it.  For example, which place is more appropriate for the mother to give to birth? Is it at a hospital? Is it at home? Or is it at a birth center?

Furthermore, let us overview some of the pluses and negatives of hospital births., beginning with the pluses for hospital births:

The Pros of Hospital Births:

  • Choosing birth centers can be high risk for the child’s parents, due to inadequate immediate medical assistance..
  • Immediate medical assistance is available, at a hospital, if something goes wrong with the pregnancy.
  • By mothers giving births at hospitals, mothers are allowed to rest more often, while the nurses are taking care of the baby.
  • Hospitals provide better room service for the expecting mothers.

The Cons of Hospital Births:

  • At hospitals, there is a higher chance of being doped up on drugs is higher.
  • The mother is unable to give birth and move freely in alternate positions.
  • Mothers are stuck with being stuck with a lot of needles and signing a bunch of papers!
  • The natural aspect of the birthing process is looked in a medical view, rather than in a natural view.
  • There are higher risks of being induced into unnecessary procedures and c-sections.
  • There is no immediate bonding of the parents and the child after the childbirth.
  • And, of course, the hospital food always sucks to the max!

The Pros of Giving Birth in Birthing Centers:

  • They are in more support of natural childbirthing.
  • There is more of a natural feel to the births, than it would be in a hospital.
  • The quality of the health care is better rendered than in a general hospital
  • There is no pressure for you to be doped up on a lot of drugs!
  • The transfer to another facility is much lower than at a general hospital.
  • The birth centers are easier to access than a general hospital.
  • The child’s parents have a variety of birthing options available to her.

The Cons of Birth Center Births:

  • Not an option for pregnancies that maybe high risk!
  • In cases of medical necessity, the mother will be transferred to a hospital.
  • If the mother chooses a natural birth, the drugs that are used to relive the labor pains are not available.

The Pros of Home Births:

  • The parents will be in the comfort of their home, which helps relieve stress to a great deal!
  • The parents do not need to worry about signing a bunch of papers or heart monitors holding them down.
  • The Midwifes are experienced in dealing with all aspects of the birthing process.
  • A mother can simply give birth to their babies—in the comfort of her own bed!
  • The mother has the options of moving around, using birthing balls and/or giving birth in a water tub.
  • And there is no interruption of the bonding between the mother and the parents and is highly supported.

Home Birth Cons:

  • In case of a serious medical issue, the mother may have to be transferred to a hospital.
  • Room service is an extra service that has to be paid for!
  • The mother has to plan to find extra help to take care of the household, if the mother has other children.

In short, the joy of bringing a little one into the world is a joyous and special occasion—an event that both parents have to right to make it special as they see fit! For the best care for the mother and the child, the best and reliable birthing centers, hospitals and or midwifes should be found. Well, good luck to all you expecting parents and may your childbirthing experience the one that you will enjoy by your choosing.

Male Sexual Issues after Watching Childbirth

September 22nd, 2008

For most males, premature ejaculation is the most common and stressful of all the sexual male problems that exist, especially after watching the birth of a child, which cause most men to be stressed out about having to take care of a child. After all, most men want to prevent premature ejaculation as long as they can, to enhance the pleasure of the sex with their sex partner(s).

Furthermore, it is normal for men to experience this dilemma after their partner has given birth to their child. Are you a male this is suffering from this embarrassing and frustrating illness? If so, there is remedy that you can try to help control the ejaculation process. This remedy is called Kegel exercises—exercises that help strengthen the PC muscles of the penis—the muscles that control the ejaculation process.  The method was invented by a doctor named Arnold Kegel and was, originally, created for women who had experienced childbirth. But, later on, men began to use this exercise and, later, became popular for men when they learn the exercises helped control the timing of the ejaculations and increased the potency of their orgasms.

Where is the PC muscle located? This muscle is located inside the penis, from the pubic bone to the tail bone and to the bottom of the pelvic cavity. To find this muscle, cease the flow of urine during midstream. The PC muscle is the muscle that stops the flow of urine, as it contracts against the urethra—stopping the flow of urine.

How to do Kegel exercises? First, you should get in a comfortable position, which can be done by sitting down. Second, you want to get the penis half-erect, so the exercise will be easier to do. Third, once the penis is half-erect, you would contract the PC muscle and squeeze it for about five seconds. Fourth, after five seconds, release the hold of the PC muscles and keep doing this until you are ready to stop. The amount of reps for this exercise is up to you, but if you are a beginner, tries to do at least five reps in one sitting.

Furthermore, these exercises are simple and can be done while you are watching TV or at a desk at home or at work and etc. Furthermore, you should note that this process takes time to come into effect, but do not give up because, in the long run, your hard work will pay off. If you want to include these exercises during masturbation and sexual intercourse, that is up to you. Just make sure that you and your partner is ready for sex after she had recently given birth. Also, these exercises have been to increase the occurrence of multiple orgasms—which is always a good thing!

In addition, to prolonging your staying power after dealing with childbirth, there are natural male supplements, like Extenze, that, also, can help you ‘keep it up.’ These supplements will make you penis rock hard and help you to last longer during the intercourse. Moreover, you are able to have multiple erections in less time than it would take without these supplements.

In short, having sexual problems after childbirth is a normal thing for men and women ad you should not be ashamed of that fact, as there are ways to help you overcome this dilemma.

Family-Centered Childbirths

September 4th, 2008

For a better, many expecting mothers are turning to natural childbirthing, so they can fully take part in the birth of their baby. In addition to choosing a natural childbirth, mothers will be more relaxed and not doped up on painkillers during the pregnancy—enhancing the whole nature of the process.

A natural childbirth means that the birthing mother accepts that she will experience pain and discomfort as part of labor and birth. The positive aspects of natural childbirth include no loss of sensation, as she will remain alert during the labor and delivery process.

When you choose to have your baby delivered through natural childbirth, you are able to move in any position you desire, without the stern directions of a nurse or midwife. This is what gives many of the women who choose this birthing process, a sense of control and achievement in being able to give birth without the use of medications, even though, the pain is great and grueling!

Furthermore, most of the techniques that are encouraged with natural childbirth are non-evasive, which makes the expecting mother, her birth partners and family members to feel more involved and at ease with the childbirthing process.

Also, there are childbirthing classes that teach ways for a mother to cope with the natural childbirthing process. Generally, these methods of coping with natural childbirth begin long before the labor period begins, thus, encouraging the expecting mother to be more relaxed and at ease with being pregnant and when she is in labor.

However, unlike painkillers that are used during a traditional pregnancy, the labor coping techniques do not, entirely, take away the pain. The coping skills only lessen the pain and if you find the pain is too much to handle, you should require the need of painkillers or other pain relief to better help you cope with the labor.

With that being said, being prepared for a natural childbirth also helps other family members to be prepared as well. If you desire, you should have a birth plan created, which is a plan that will give your caregivers a list of wishes that you desire for your pregnancy and labor periods.

Furthermore, you have the option of having a natural childbirth delivery at a birthing center, your home or at a general hospital. For a family-centered birth, a birthing center would be best, as they would help you carry out you and your family’s needs and wants for the labor period. Nowadays, even hospitals are moving toward a more family-centered pregnancy, rather than a medically-inclined form of the occasion. Hospitals are doing this by renaming their maternity wards as birthing centers and allowing more time for friends and family members to visit the expecting mother.

So You Want To Be A Doula?

September 4th, 2008

The word ‘doula’ comes from the Greek language which means ‘female servant.’ Today, doulas are highly-trained professionals who guide and assist expecting mothers and their partners through the childbirthing process. Moreover, doulas maintain a presence that is continuous throughout the childbirthing process. Also, doulas provide a never-ending support to the expecting mothers, in terms of caring for their needs—emotionally and non-medical.

Being Doula Material

How can you tell if you are doula material? Do you enjoy reading magazines that are related to parents and childbirth? Do you love to talk to any woman that is or will be pregnant? If this is you, then you probably are doula material. I was this way before I decided to become a doula. My path to being a doula began when I had my second child and was in search of a new career in life. Ok, one day, when I was waiting in line to have my second son registered in pre-school, I met a woman, who happened to be a doula. I told her that I wanted to be doula and how do I become one? She told me about a nearby school that offers doula training and about a month later, I was taking classes on how to be a doula. Several moths later, I became a certified doula and the rest is history!

All-Nighters and Short Deliveries for Doulas

The all-nighter deliveries are random and unexpected—something that, as a doula, you cannot prepare for. For many doulas, particularly the new ones, this is the hardest part of the job. The reason is you are constantly on your feet, all night, giving advice to mothers on how they should position themselves, giving mothers a continuous load of messages and explaining medical procedures to the mothers.

Moreover, what make the job even harder is you have to do all this while smiling and maintaining a good demeanor—on a consistent basis throughout the labor period. If the procedure last two nights or more, you may want to bring some coffee to drink. Remember, you got be alert at all times, since the mother’s health and the babies health depends on it. One wrong move can be fatal or either one or both

Of course, there are some deliveries that are short and may only last 3-4 hours. This is what you would consider a good delivery. Along with short deliveries, you feel like you have reached the peak of Mt. Everest, as you have taken part of a miracle being carried out. Also, you gain the satisfaction that you help made the mother’s labor easier for her, as she begin a new chapter in her life

Places to Get Doula Training

There are some schools, on and off the Internet, that offer doula training courses, with financial assistance and employment support afterwards. Another way of checking for local, certified doula training centers, is to check with the DONA, or Doulas of North America. Also, you can check with the Lamaze International and the CAPPA, for additional certified doula training programs. In addition, get involved with a local doula group to gain friendship and support and read every birth labor related publications as you can to gain added knowledge on how to be a doula.

Childbirth Education DVD’s for Breastfeeding

September 4th, 2008

Today, women have choices on how and what they feed their babies—a choice that they did not have in the past. Women can make this choice before, during or even after the pregnancy. If women are in doubt as to how to feed their babies, there are thousands of educational DVD’s that are out there for childbirth and breastfeeding, so you can make this important choice for you and your offspring.

Why should you breastfeed?

The reason: Breast feeding is, unequivocally, the best methods for feeding your baby, as it will help him or her to grow and mature quicker than a baby that is not breastfed.  It is undisputed that breastfeeding is the best way to feed your baby. Furthermore, feeding your baby a lot of instant formulas is not a good thing for you baby and the reason include:

•Instant formulas increase the baby’s chances of getting an infection, as they cannot receive the antibodies that come from their mothers after childbirth.

 • Instant formulas increase the infant’s risk of suffering a slew of allergies.

• Instant formulas have been known to reduce the speed of the development of a child’s brain—something that is not found in breast milk.

 • Instant formulas raise the risk of major illnesses to your baby, including urinary tract infections and gastrointestinal problems.

• Instant formulas are almost always never ready to use at the right time, place and temperature, unlike breast milk which is readily available

Furthermore, the advantages of breastfeeding for mothers include:

• A reduction in the amount of bleeding after a baby is born as it helps the uterus to return to its pre-pregnant size much faster.
• Breastfeeding can reduce the onslaught of ovulation and menstruation in most women.
• Breastfeeding can be done at anytime and at anyplace.
• The cost for breastfeeding is free!
• The use of breastfeeding gives a woman the empowerment that she needs as she watches her baby grow—on practically nothing!

What should I do before baby comes?

If need to do so, contact your local center for breastfeeding and attend to one or a few of their meetings that will discuss this topic. It, usually, helps to associate with other new mothers and to hear about their breastfeeding experience.

Although, there is no need for you to set your breasts for breastfeeding, since the body does it naturally. If you want to rid the breast nipples of germs and bacteria, you should apply a couple of weeks before pregnancy, a couple of drops of a solution called Colostrum. Colostrum is an anti-bacterial solution that can be used to clean the nipples of your breasts and should be used after taking a shower. In fact, you can freeze this solution for later use

Also, if you have noticed, there are small pimples that are located around your nipples. These nipples main purpose is to release natural oils that protect the nipples from germs and bacteria. Furthermore, these nipples are also known to take good and bad bacteria and make antibodies for them. This is good for you and for your breasts, as this, also, prevents the breast milk from becoming infected by harmful bacteria.

.

In short, by fortifying yourself with the knowledge of how breastfeeding is done, through the viewings of educational DVD’s on breastfeeding, you will be more than prepared to breastfeed your child the right way.

Using Aromatherapy and Stress Relievers after Childbirth

September 4th, 2008

To most women, natural childbirth is less mind-wrenching for their child and it gives them an increased control over the birth process. Most women begin to prepare for childbirth by taking light exercises such as walking or swimming, which improves the tone of their body’s muscles and general welfare.

Generally, they would eat sensibly and consume dietary supplements and vitamins, to give them that extra boost they need to help get through the pregnancy. Also, most women would create a plan for the birth of their child, to manage the birthing process, and to take birthing classes to be informed on breathing techniques.

In fact, learning breathing techniques will help mothers to relax more and concentrate on the labor, when it occurs. This is, also, why most women choose to have birth in a tub filled with warm water, which helps to ease some of the pain that being in labor cause. Most hospitals do offers this type of birthing service and if they do not; there should be nearby birthing centers that do offer water birth services.

Ok, a mother just given birth and are still feeling not up to par. What should they do to make themselves feel better? The answer: Mothers should use aromatherapy during and after giving birth to their child. Aromatherapy works when women take rosemary oil, chamomile and lavender and rub it all over their body, which helps relieve the stress and pain after childbirth

Also, women would use acupuncture as a way of relieving post-childbirth pain and stress. In order for them to use acupuncture, they would need the permission of a doctor or a licensed therapist.

Another version of acupuncture is a method called TENS, or Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. TENS does the job by transmitting electrical impulses to the brain, which disrupt the pain impulses that is being sent to the brain and increases the natural painkillers of the body, endorphin.

If women are not into acupuncture, they are into the science of hypnosis. Yes, hypnosis does a great deal in helping to relieve much of the stress that pregnancy brings to a woman. Of course, it is recommended that a licensed professional is used to render this service.

How to get rid of the stretch marks that can be seen on the women’s abdomen during and after pregnancy? The answer: Take a cold bag or compress and put it on the stretch marks and, thoroughly, dry the wetted area. After this, take a few drops of lavender and cypress oil and soak the area in a warm bath for around 15 minutes or so.

7 Tips for Natural Childbirthing

September 4th, 2008

This article will discuss seven important tips for natural childbirthing, with important instructions on how to complete each one. The following tips will help make the childbirthing experience an easier one.

Stay Home: The most important step, in the childbirthing process, is to stay home for as long as you can. This step will help relieve some of the stress in the childbirthing process, by keeping the pain low. Giving birth at a hospital of a birth center, is better for you during the process, since there will be highly-trained professional staff that will take care of you during this grueling process.

Furthermore, it is wise to seek medical help when the contractions are around 2 or 3 minutes apart and when each contraction last around a minute.

Move:  The second important step in the childbirthing process is for you to move around as much as possible. You should try to walk a little bit each day and for as long possible. Doing this will keep your body from being stuck on your back when you are giving birth, since this will cause you more pain when giving birth. If you can’t get up or walk, try to take a bouncing ball and bounce it to keep your body moving.

Make Noise: Making noise is the third most important step in the childbirthing process, as it will relieve some of the tension that is created by the process. With that being said, make noise when you have to, but try not to make too much noise, since if you do, the pains in your back will become worse. I this case, you should only use low moans when making noise.

Breathe: The fourth most important step is for you to relax and take deep breaths, while you are in labor. By breathing slowly in a repeated manner, your labor pains will decrease and you, also, will take in a lot of air. Also, you should try to breathe slowly— before and after each contraction.

Relax: The fifth most important step in the childbirthing process is to relax your mind and body. This step goes hand-in-hand with breathing, as this will help to relax all of the muscles in your body. Although, your uterus will be working extra hard, the rest of the body should be relaxed as much as possible. Furthermore, if you are in need of extra support, get it from your childbirthing partner or a doula. Also, during the pregnancy, it is always wise to get a printed or electronic guide and practice relaxation techniques for the birthing process as much as you can.

Have a Partner That You Trust: The sixth most important step in the child birthing process is for you to choose a birth partner that you can trust. Your birthing partner can be anyone you know, like a boyfriend, a sister or any one or more peoples you trust. Also, make sure that your birthing partner(s) is reliable and will be there for you, when you do finally go into labor.  If you cannot find a reliable birthing partner, try to seek the services of a professional doula to assist you in the birthing process.

Trust Yourself: The seventh and final important step in the childbirthing is gaining trust in you. Remember, that, since you are a woman, you were born to give birth to children and, naturally, for that reason, you are able to give birth.
